Tuesday, February 13, 2018Julie, Janet, and JoAnn, and your families, we are so sorry for your loss. Clyde was a wonderful man which is certainly evidenced by his three terrific daughters. I remember him as hard-working, good-natured, thoughtful and quick to laugh. His words were always insightful and generally tinged with humor. I was always impressed that he would take time to talk to me, a little kid, when we had our family get-togethers. I also got to know him from stories my dad told me about them growing up together: About how while in high school, they spent so much time checking how their hair was combed that Henry made them stop before they wore out their mirror. Or when they got to take the car into town, the driving brother would do his best to get the car started and moving before the passenger brother could get completely into the vehicle. If the passenger happened to make it safely in, (whether or not the car was already moving) he would admonish the driver with, “come on, let’s go.” And about how happy he was when Clyde returned safely from Korea. May God bless you with peace and healing.

Monday, February 12, 2018We were so sad to hear of Uncle Clyde's passing. But we are happy to know that he is at rest now with Aunt Sherry in the presence of Jesus. Your mom and dad always made it feel like we were home whenever we could get down to Winterset. We will cherish all the happy memories we have of six little girl cousins playing, pretending and giggling for hours. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
